The Uniform Experience: The Giacobbi Family

Health means different things to different people. For the Giacobbi family, health and wellness is their life passion. In fact, Denis Giacobbi and his wife Elaine, also a certified personal trainer, have over 30 years of experience in the industry. As Managing Partner of Executive Fitness Leaders, Denis has been encouraging, promoting, and helping clients achieve their fitness goals for the last 15 years. Meanwhile since 1998, Elaine owned and operated Wellness on the Rideau – a private waterfront personal training studio for women based out of their family home on Wellsmere Court, a beautiful single family home backing onto the Rideau River. Having a home that was equipped for her personal training requirements was crucial to the success of her growing business.

As their family grew and needs changed, the Giacobbi family found that their two-storey, waterfront home was more than they needed, and so they began their search to downsize to a smaller home for their family – and of course, Elaine’s business. It was through their son Jacob’s hockey friends whose parents owned homes at The Orchard, that they fell in love with Uniform’s spacious open layouts, unique home designs, and unequaled craftsmanship. Warm and inviting, they described the feeling as similar to staying in a Tremblant resort. With a previous career in real estate, Denis explained that he “was familiar with the Uniform Developments brand, reputation throughout the city, and association with Barry J. Hobin & Associates Architects. We were immediately attracted to the variety of home designs, high quality construction materials, and the style of the community.”

They purchased a townhome in The Orchard in February 2016, and moved in at the end of the summer. As an inventory home, many of the interior finishes were already in place (which they loved) but they had hoped to make a few additional changes. The Uniform team, including their Sales Representative (Mike, now retired) and Service Coordinator, Shelley Laframboise, were extremely accommodating. They worked together to expand the kitchen to include 20ft of wall-to-wall cabinetry and a 10ft island, perfect for entertaining guests. “The kitchen/living room is our favourite space in the home,” said Denis.

But a Giacobbi home wouldn’t be complete without a training space! Their basement was set-up as a private home personal training studio featuring 445 sqft of open space for gym equipment, a finished bathroom, and shower.

What’s more exciting is that the Uniform experience doesn’t end here for the Giacobbi family. They’ve fallen in love with their townhome, and can’t wait to purchase from Uniform again. What’s up next? A new semi-detached Uniform bungalow backing onto the beautiful Stonebridge Golf course is on their radar for when their son goes to college in a few years. Uniform is in the early planning stages of a project that intends to feature such product. From start to finish, their home buying experience exceeded their expectations, and they love sharing their home with family, friends, and clients every day.
